Mr. Sunday Adeleye whose appointment as AFN technical director, continues to be a bone of contention, said yesterday that a list of activities has been drawn up; stressing that it was now up to the board of the AFN to meet and ratify the programmes.
“We have a list of programmes pencilled down. These programmes will even stretch down to 2019. “But the board of the AFN must have to meet and have them ratified, they are likely to meet in the week ahead and hopefully, we can look forward to a year full of activities,” said Adeyele, a former 400m runner
“We have to recognise the fact that we really need to start our preparations early for the Commonwealth Games and the African Championships, so we are expect members to discuss these issues with a foremost interest for the sport.”
Adeleye urged members who are unhappy with his position as technical director, to give him a chance as he was prepared to reach out to everyone who has a contribution to make for the development of the sport.
“We have a lot of work to do and so we will continue to reach out to all aggrieved members to forge unity.
“The elections are over we really need to sink our differences and think about our sport. As sports men and women it should be all about friendship and togetherness.”
