Be steadfast, Ikpeazu tasks PDP members

UMUAHIA—GOVERNOR Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has urged the members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state to remain steadfast in the party and make it stronger as they approach the 2019 general election.

Governor Ikpeazu, who spoke on the sideline of a PDP stakeholders’ meeting at Government House, Umuahia, assured them that there will be no imposition of candidates in the party’s primaries.
Ikpeazu further assured them that internal democracy will be practised in the state and urged those contemplating to leave the party to have a rethink and change of mind, insisting that PDP is the only political party on ground in Abia State.

  • APC mega rally

Meanwhile, All Progressives Congress, APC, said it is planning for what it termed “a mega rally” preparatory to its plan to win the state in 2019.
“The rally, according the state chairman of the party, Chief Donatus Nwankpa, will have President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the national chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun in attendance.
