THE Ijaw People Congress, IPC, has faulted alleged moves by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Burutu Local Government Area to impose candidates in Ayakoromo.
The IPC also argued that the PDP Councillorship primary is yet to be conducted in Ward Seven in Ayakoromo in Burutu Council.
IPC’s National President, Mr Ekanpou Enewaridideke called on Deltas State governor, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa to ensure that a primary election is conducted for councillorship candidates.
His words: “Ward Seven is known in Delta state for the democratic culture of conducting PDP party councillorship primary without a move towards imposition. But now there is a democratically satanic move by some politicians to impose their chosen candidate on Ward seven.
“These politicians boast that they have the right political vibrations, powers, and connections to carry out their planned imposition of a candidate in ward seven. This undemocratic satanic plot is contrary to the clear position of the Delta state Governor His Excellency Senator Okowa Ifeanyi that there should be a democratic councillorship primary in every ward in respect of the forthcoming Local Government elections in Delta state.’’
The statement reads: “These satanic undemocratic politicians are trying to distort the democratic course of the governor. Towards the realization of this evil plot, they falsely drum up a dead propaganda that they have been secretly instructed to install a particular councilorship candidate in ward seven. Ward seven is a ward of intellectuals and political dons and so will not accept candidate-imposition no matter the devious strategy adopted to deceive and intimidate people at the grassroots level.
“Because ward seven will not accept councilorship candidate imposition, we are hereby passionately calling on the PDP state Chairman in Delta south Senatorial District, the PDP Chairman, Burutu Council PDP Chairman and all other relevant authorities to call the satanic undemocratic politicians to shelve their candidate-imposition plot in Ward seven.
“These satanic politicians should equally be cautioned against using Asaba big names to intimidate the people at the grassroots level or we shall be compelled to proclaim to the world a catalogue of the big names they are daily invoking to effect the candidate-imposition plot and most of these names invoked are political appointees at the state level.(4)We are calling for a free and fair councilorship primary in Ayakoromo which is the headquarters of ward seven.
“The people of Ayakoromo, Akparemogbene, Oyangbene, Eseimogbene, Bubougbene and other towns in ward seven are educated, cultured, intelligent, consistent and principled people who will never accept candidate-imposition and so the relevant authorities should re-order the satanic political behaviour of these satanic politicians so that the most popular councilorship candidate can be democratically chosen in PDP ward seven.”
“Let all state relevant eyes shine their eyes on the yet-to-be conducted PDP primary in ward seven. Based on intelligence gathered and analyzed, there is a clandestine plot by these satanic politicians to disrupt the yet-to-be conducted PDP Councilorship Primary through deployment of illogical logical argument and pretentious intellectually turgid sophistry and when this illogically logical intellectual muscle-flexing succeeds, these satanic politicians will congratulate themselves, spirit themselves politically to Asaba and impose their candidate of choice on ward seven.
“What they need to do is marry any stupid argument of their choice and illogically create waves and prevent the conduct of democratic PDP primary in ward seven. The relevant authorities should be guided by this when ward seven PDP councilorship primary is conducted because ward seven will not accept any form of candidate-imposition.What we simply demand is a free and fair PDP councilorship primary in ward seven so that the right candidate could democratically as the PDP flagbearer.”
