Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has stated clearly that club coach Diego Simeone is untouchable. This follows reports linking the Argentine to Premier League side Everton who recently parted ways with their coach Ronald Koeman.

Simeone’s Atletico have put up a run of form that has seen them struggle to score goals; drawing five out of their eleven league games so far this season and failing to find the net against minnows Qarabag in the Champions League.
In an interview with Marca, Cerezo said “I want to say this in a loud voice: Simeone is untouchable at Atletico Madrid, for the players, for the directors and for the supporters,”
“Having doubts about Cholo Simeone is not allowed here.”
An obviously overworked Antoine Griezmann will get to catch his breath when Diego Costa who will be joining for his second stint at the club and Vitolo who signed from Sevilla in July but was loaned to Las Palmas because of a transfer ban on the club get the chance to play come January.
Reacting, Cerezo said “This season we were unable to make signings. We have great players and many of those we wanted to sign are performing at a great level in important European leagues,”
“Fortunately, the two who had to be announced will arrive in January and with them we’ll have a great second half to the season, with some phenomenal conditions.”
