DAMATURU— ON Monday night, Boko Haram launched an attack on Government Girls College, Dapchi, Yobe State, with the intention to abduct students of the school.
It was learned that the insurgents, on arrival, shot sporadically and denoted bombs to scare people away from their path, which also gave the students the opportunity to escape.
A resident said he saw three Hilux jeeps filled with the terrorists, adding that some of the girls sustained injuries while fleeing the school and were receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Damaturu.
A father, who did not want his name in print, said two of his children are missing.
A source said security agents are after the terrorists, while the school authorities are taking a head count of students.
